Debate Event
December 14, 2024
Objective
To encourage critical thinking, research, and the ability to analyze issues from both perspectives. The debate enhances public speaking, persuasive skills, and effective communication.
Topics
- Indian Education System
Note: Participants are expected to prepare for both sides: *For* and *Against* the motion. Teams will be randomly assigned Proposition (For) or Opposition (Against).
Rules and Regulations
- Each participant will get 2 minutes for the introductory speech and 1 minute for the concluding speech.
- A 25-minute cross-questioning and rebuttal round will be held, where participants can ask and answer questions to the opposite side.
- No reading material is allowed. Decorum must be maintained, and the use of foul or vulgar language is strictly prohibited.
- Participants must follow the directions of the moderator.
- Judgment criteria include:
- Introduction & Conclusion
- Language & Diction
- Body Language & Voice Modulation
- Cross-questions & Rebuttals
- Overall Impact
- The judges' decision is final.
Participation Process
- ID card is mandatory.
- Pre-registration in all categories is mandatory.
- Participants are required to report at least 30 minutes prior to their performance.
- The order of performances will be allotted by the organizing team.
General Rules
- Allowed languages: English & Hindi.
- Participants are expected to prepare both *Pros* and *Cons* of the given topic.
- The judges' decision is final.
- No interruptions or disrespectful behavior.
- Additional rules will be disclosed on the spot.
